Description:
SOLD...Antique Smith & Wesson 2nd model DA .32 caliber. Decent  and a little harder to find 2nd model DA..32 S/N 12994 all matching of course and made this model from 1880 to 1882. This one probably made in 1881 about mid way in production. These 2nd models are rather rare to find in excellent working condition. This is another pretty much no finish revolver I am selling. Just shows traces of nickel finish as you can see in the photos but it is smooth and not pitted but shows some minor dings here and there. The trigger still shows some nice case colors. Has an old dime that someone has added for a front sight.. Kinda neat and a very well done job. The gun has excellent mechanics. This gun is tight as a new gun. It indexes perfectly in both double and single action. NO cylinder wobble side to side or front to rear as most you will find on a well used example of this model. The gun locks up perfect. Both hammer notches are perfect as well. It holds perfectly on the safety and full cock notches in single action un like many of these early .32 DA that don't hold on the notches. These are perfect. The barrel to frame fit at the latch is rock solid as is the hinge. NO wobble or play anywhere on this gun.  All markings are excellent. The grips are very nice and show some wear to the checkering as they should. Has one very tiny 1/16" chip on the left grip in the back strap area.{see photo of the back strap}. Very minor but want to mention for a honest description. NO other chips or cracks and a perfect factory fit. The bore has strong rifling with some minor black powder roughness but nothing bad or any big pits anywhere. The chambers are smooth and clean with no roughness. The screws show some turning but not all burred up and all are servicable. The hammer screw is worn through in the middle of the slot but still completely servicable. {see photo}. Nothing that detracts from this ole pocket pistol. I usually don't mess with no finish revolvers but these early 1st and 2nd models are not as common as the latter models that you see every day. An very nice, no finish example that is tight as new and would make a great little shooter with the proper black powder loads of course. $15 insure mail. Call 765-728-8049 with any questions or more photos. Thank you for looking and please see my other antique firearms I have listed.
