Browning Superposed Superlight 20ga Midas Grade Upgrade by Angelo Bee
Belgium manufacture serial number: 223PX02xxx (ca. 1983) 20ga, 2 3/4" chambers, blue steel 26 1/2" VR bbls. choked IC/M (**-/**). Highly figured walnut stock w/ Midas style Superlight checkering patterns, stright hand grip and Schnabel forend w/ glossy finish. All blue receiver, forened iron and trigger bow and tang. Engraved and gold inlays double signed by renowned engraver Angelo Bee in 1984 to a Midas Grade pattern w/ full coverage scroll and gold vignettes of flying ducks on the right and flying pheasants w/ a flying quail on bottom, single selective trigger in gold.
Between 1983 to 1986 Browning renewed production of the Superposed in Grade I only in Lightning and Superlight configurations. This is one of the those guns that was provided to Mr. Bee to be upgraded. Under engraving on left side it is faintly scribed: "1984 BEE" much like a watermark on a dollar bill.
Gun is 98% condition in its current configuration. Just as nice as an original, pre-76 Superlight Midas grade by one of the most recognizeable of all the Browning engravers.
