Description:
This is a 38 cal.  (80 bore),  percussion revolver. 6" octagon barrel with a very good, mostly bright bore with some scattered light pits. Double Action only. It was manufactured by " DEANE ADAMES & DEANE, 30 KING WILLIAM ST. LONDON BRIDGE", and is so marked on the top barrel flat. The barrel and frame retain approx. 65-70% bright original bluing. Has detailed loose scroll engraving on the sides and breech end of barrel with scattered pinprick pitting. The cylinder is a toned gray case hardened patina. the one-piece checkered English walnut grip is near excellent showing a few light dings along bottom edge. The serial number, #12564/R is found on the cylinder. On the front of the frame is "D.AS,D/80". These were imported during the Civil War and were purchased by Officers of both sides for personal use.
