Model 1836 Flintlock Pistol
Manufactured by Asa Waters of Millbury, Massachusetts. These were the last US martial pistol produced with the flintlock ignition system. .54 caliber smoothbore round barrel (8.5”) was produced in bright finish. Brass blade front sight. Sideplate clearly stamped “A. Waters/Milbury,MS./1838. Estimated 20,000 units produced (1837-1843). Proof stamping is not defined. Only the inspector intials JH.
Cartouches present on left side of stock but are not clearly legible. Metal surfaces have discoloring and light pitting
