Model 1842 Percussion Pistol
Manufactured by Henry Aston & Co of Middletown, Connecticut. Date marked on sideplate 1851. 8 1/2” smoothbore round barrel with brass blade front sight. .54 caliber. Proof stamp on barrel not legible Trigger plate stamped “M”. Approximately 6,000 units produced 1851 to 1852.
Pistol has crack in lower part of butt above brass cap. Barrel surface has pitting and rust damage.
