Model 1884 U.S. Trapdoor Carbine
Manufactured by Springfield (1886-1889). Total units ~20,000. 45-70 Caliber with 22” round barrel. Brass front blade and Buffington rear sight. Lock markings U.S SPRINGFIELD W/ EAGLE. Breech block stamped US/MODEL/1884.
Carbine half stock in good condition with light scratches and dings. One crack noted at forend before barrel band and spacer. Barrel band recessed on top for front sight. Barrel has deep patina with light pitting. Breechblock retains some case coloring with light pitting.
