Maynard Carbine – Second Model
Manufactured by Massachusetts Arms Co. Production run 1863-1865 with 20,202 units. .50 caliber percussion rifle. Approximately 20,200 produced from 1863-1865. 20" rifled round barrel. Blade front sight with two folding leafs at rear. Barrel is transitions from octagonal to round moving from the breech block. Single piece walnut stock in good condition with some scratches and dings but no cracks. Cartouches are readily visible. Barrel finish is patina. Color hardened case is mostly silver. Light pitting noted on metal surfaces. Please review pictures. Stamping is fully legible on both sides of frame.Buttplate stamped US.
