Model 1855 Percussion Pistol-Carbine
Manufactured by Springfield Armory. 4,021 unit produced 1855-1857. .58 Caliber 12” rifled barrel. Fitted with Maynard self-priming system. Side plate stamped U.S. /SPRINGFIELD / 1856 w/ eagle emblem on folding plate. Lanyard ring on butt cap. Detachable stock for Carbine use.
Barrel is bright finished with some light pitting. Two leaf rear sight mounted on tang. Pistol stock appears to have repaired cracks in grip area. A very unique collectible piece of history.
