Sharps & Hankins Model 1862 Carbine – Navy Type
.52 Caliber rimfire breechloader fitted with 24” leather wrapped barrel. Records show the Navy purchased 6,686 units. Frame stamp left side SHARPS/PATENT/1859. Walnut stock with brass buttplate.
Leather wrap is nearly complete with a few rough edges near barrel breach. Complete rear sight assembly. Receiver metal is smooth with some discoloration. One piece walnut stock has assorted dents and scratches but no apparent cracks. Another unique collectible piece with original components!
