*** SOLD *** *** REDUCED PRICE *** Beautiful and hard-to-find Auguste Francotte 12 gauge hammergun with gorgeous and extensive engraving on sidelocks, frame, hammers, fences, trigger guard and forearm iron. Strong traces of case coloring remain on inside of forearm iron and on the sidelocks around the hammers. Gun weighs 6lb 9oz and handles like a dream. Has sideclips and a Kersten cross-bolt. Locks up tight. Made in 1906. *** The Acier steel 28” extractor barrels have a raised solid rib. Rib is hand cross-hatched. The right barrel is bored 0.730 and has a constriction of 0.022 for Modified choke. The left barrel is bored 0.729 and has a constriction of 0.032 for Full choke. Barrels have most likely been reblued but it was professionally done and there is no wear on the new finish. There is a small scratch on the toplever. *** The straight hand stock and splinter forearm are made of nicely figured walnut. The stock dimensions are 14-5/8” over a 1” leather pad by 1-1/2” by 2-1/2”. Slightly cast off for the right hand shot. While the stock is sound the checkering is quite worn and the new owner will want to have this re-cut. In addition there are a number of scratches on both the buttstock and the forearm; cosmetic issues only but when the checkering is redone the stockmaker can easily raise them. *** Overall I would say that this is a good higher grade Francotte hammergun with phenomenal engraving, good metal condition, and a solid stock that needs some cosmetic refurbishing. You will be proud to take this gun afield or to the range. *** Not for sale where prohibited by state or local laws. Buyer is responsible for all shipping, insurance, and any other related charges.
