US Model 1861 with Miller Conversion
Originally manufactured by Parkers, Snow & Co 1864. The rifle was converted to .58 caliber rimfire. Breechblock marking W.H.&G.W.MILLER PATENT MAY 23, 1865/MERIDEN MFG. CO., MERIDEN, CONN. Double folding leaf rear sight. Approx 2,000 units converted (1865-1867). 31 1/2" round rifled barrel.
Barrel has brown patina with light pitting. Lockplate retains blueing and stamping is crisp. Breechblock in good condition with clear lettering. Stock has various lights scratches and dings with a hairline crack from trigger guard up to rear of barrel. Stock stamped LRP on right side. Lock markings 1864/PARKERS'SNOW & CO/MERIDEN.CONN includes eagle logo.
