Model 1855 U.S. Percussion Rifle Musket
Manufactured by Harpers Ferry Armories (1857-1861). 12,158 units produced. .58 caliber 40” round barrel with Maynard tape system. Lock markings U.S./HARPERS FERRY/1857 w/ eagle motif.
Barrel stamped V P w/ eaglehead. Barrel in good condition with light freckling and some discoloration. Folding ladder rear sight. Brass forend cap. Cartouches present on left side of stock. Stock in good condition with typical scratches and dings. Two light cracks noted at rear of lockplate. Lockplate stamping is crisp and legible.
