Description:
This is probably the only one of these in the United States. Pior to WW II citizens in India were not allowed to own firearms in calibers used by the military. BSA chambered Lee-Enfield sporters for the 8X50 rimmed cartridge and this Enfield sporter for the 8X57. This particular example was retailed by the veneable Mortimer company. As you can see it has the typical British array of leaf sights.
