Extraordinary case matched pair of English Percussion Sea Captain's Pistols. Made by Joseph & Bentley, gun and pistol makers, 12 South Castle Street, Liverpool. circa 1839-1862. Rifled octagon barrel 7.5" 50 cal. with makers signature BENTLEY & SON. Nice original ringed brown finish. High grade decorative engraving on lock, trigger guard, and silver stock furniture. Original steel belt hooks. Stocks are in excellent condition with minor wear. Beautiful checkering pattern on grips. Silver Hallmarks on bottom tang. Brass name plate inscribed; E.L. Andrews to Capt. S.E. Andrews. Original bullet mould with "WD" stamp, ebony cleaning rod with brass accessories, vintage partial box of "GOLD MARK'S PERCUSSION CAPS dated 1858. Original English case with green baize lining, ivory lifting handle on the accessory storage compartment lids. Case measurements 17"x2.75"x9.5".
