SPRINGFIELD U.S. MODEL 1877 TRAPDOOR .45-70 CAL. CARBINE. Serial numbered in the 115,xxx range. All original late production Model 1877-one of the last few made before the change to the Model 1879. Features the later Buffington rear sight and the Model 1879 stock. Both Arsenal upgrades done during the period of issue. Very good to fine with blue and dark patina mixed evenly overall. Stock excellent with the original finish. Inspection stamp “O” to the rear of the trigger guard. Fine markings including the “EAGLE/U.S./SPRINGFIELD/1873” lock marking and the “1884” dated breech block. Working order and excellent bore.
