Markings on the bbl are " TH. Liedlich In Spandau". Leidlich was noted for high quality firearms although in those days most guns made in Germany were high quality. This one shows the amount of workmanship that went into the gun with deep relief engraving. Just about all the metal parts are covered including the hammers and the tangs. There are several game scenes. There is horn used on the bottom opening lever and the back part of the trigger guard. The butt plate has a trap door with provisions for three cartridges. Wood is VG condition on both the stock and forearm. This is quite remarkable as most of these have long sidelocks with some very delicate wood in between and that is all present. This is a combination gun 28 ga and 44 CF. I'm not sure which 44 CF. The American 44-40 does not fit. It is too small. Mechanics work nicely. Gun locks up nice and solid. If you are looking for something different this would be a beautiful piece to have.
