Description:
This is a very nice and high condition Merkel Over/Under 16 gauge made during WWII. Very few sporting arms were made in Germany during WWII so this fine shotgun mush have been for someone important. This shotgun was a war trophy and brought home by a Bronze Star recipient. At some point in the early 50's the butt stock cracked and was replaced with a Fajan custom stock. The wood is an outstanding match.
