Description:
This 18 1/2 inch bayonet is unmarked and it shows Battle damage with blade and socket slightly bent. The blade is slightly thinner (1/16-1/8 inch) than most other 1816 bayonets. Bridge has a square top stud channel and socket has typical T shaped slot. Blade has slash point and 8 1/4 inch fuller at tip. Blade edges show old impact marks. Surfaces show staining with a few small areas of light pitting. rear of socket has a small chip, quite old, with dark patina in sides. A fine example.
