This is a late production pistol that retains 75-80% of the original blue finish that has faded to a mild pewter gray on the balance. Additional finish loss occurs on the barrel, siderails, gripstraps, just below the take-down button, and along both the floorplate and trigger guard. The bolt and hammer have a brighter gray patina with remnants of the original fire blue remaining on the extractor and safety. The 12 groove wooden grips are not numbered on the interior and are in very good-fine shape with some minor handling marks and very mild wear on both panels but no cracks or chips (the right panel is slightly darker in tone than the left). The mechanism has tight lock-up and the action functions flawlessly. This is a very good plus example of a late 1930 Commercial Broomhandle overall. {Ref. “The Broomhandle Pistol 1896-1936” by Erickson & Pate; 2000} FFL or C&R SOLD Manufacturer: Mauser Model: Broomhandle Serial Number: 911376 Caliber Info: .30 Mauser Gauge Info: .30 Mauser |
