Description:
S# NSN, 12 GA percussion, 30 inch barrels, fair bores. This fine shotgun is marked "Wm Moore, London-laminated Steel" on rib with "Wm Moore" on both locks. Moore operated a shop from 1808 to 1844 in London. Barrels show Birmingham proofs on bottoms. Tang, locks, barrel rib, hammers, trigger guard, and forend tip show quality scroll engraving. Barrels have platinum blow out plugs and still show traces of twist pattern. Metal is mostly grey with scattered area of fine pitting. The checkered straight grip stock shows fine grain in butt and has a tiny chip behind top tang. Wood shows many marks , most light, from many years of service. Ramrod is a period oak replacement with wad screw under a screw on jag. A very attractive old double gun. Antique
