Description:
Another solid Winchester model 1897 Trench shotgun in 12 ga, with a 18" barrel marked FULL The bore has scattered patches of shallow corrosion and some pits, not too deep though. Made in 1917. This take-down has matching numbers.The outside metal is blue from an early refinish turning to brown in places. The action is tight and somewhat stiff from non use.The pre-WWI take-down shotgun has been fitted with an unmarked 4 row bayonet lug. The hear shield and lug bear no markings. The ribbed forened wood is very good with great graining, showing no wear. The America walnut straight grain stock is very fine and may have been refinished or both pieces are wood replacements, and has a black rubber recoil plate. An interesting gun that could tell a story! SN 6186XXes with a military 1903 Springfield type sling. We don’t have asite .I prefer money orders or a check. Item ships when funds come in.
