Description:
Serial #1826, .38 S&W, 5 1/2” barrel with a very good, bright bore that has some very light pitting and freckling within the grooves. This revolver has matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, and barrel with the metal having full coverage punch-dot factory engraving and retaining about 92-95% of the original nickel that has some touches of mild dark brown freckling along the barrel rib and some of the projecting edges. The hammer and trigger guard bow retains most of their original gold washed finish, again with some mild spots of freckling here and there along the surface. The genuine mother-of-pearl grips are in excellent condition without any cracks or chips. The lock-up is still tight and the mechanism functions flawlessly. This is a splendid, factory engraved Merwin .38 and would make a wonderful addition to any collection. Antique
