#4817 Winchester 1894 rifle, OBFMCB, very desireable 38-55 with a VG+ bore (about a 7+ on a scale of 10, being kind of dark in the grooves but no pitting or serious wear), 104XXX serial range (1898), smooth solid action. The exterior retains 10-20% coverage of a 20% density original thinning blue on the frame, the barrel and magazine being 95% coverage and 80% density respectively. Fine markings with the correct early rear upper tang patent markings, fine wood, buckhorn rear barrel sight, standard pinched blade front. Overall, just a nice handsome and well cared for 117 year old antique Winchester in a VERY sought after caliber, being the largest caliber offered in the earlier Model 1894s. Fine+. $1695
