Description:
Beautiful and rare vintage oak and leather shotgun cartridge magazine or case measuring 19.5" long, 12.5" wide and 6.5" tall, fitted to hold 250-300 shells. The case features dovetailed oak construction and is covered in leather with a warm and rich patina, and shows signs of wear that one would expect with age. The corners are brass bound, and the stitching is near perfect. The interior is fitted with removable spacers, and the original leather straps used to hold the shells in place are still intact. One of the brass d rings is missing as pictured. This case is not signed, but in the same quality as the Holland & Holland and Purdey cases of the period and will be great a vintage paper label.
