While having a war time serial number, this appears to be a post-CW “war surplus” minty gun that was converted to a 44 cartridge gun …but it is now missing both the recoil shield plate and the cartridge conversion cylinder …so someone has put a replacement percussion cylinder in it. This revolver retains 99% of the original blue, excellent markings, and the civilian style grips (not having military acceptance cartouches) are so perfect that they look like they could be replacements. As expected the bore is near excellent, but does look to have been shot a few times, so not “as new”. This is a really nice revolver, even if retrofitted backwards to a percussion. $1495 SOLD Antique: Yes |
