Description:
S# 23387 , .44 rimfire, 20 inch barrel, good bore with strong rifling and areas of erosion. This 1869 built carbine remains in excellent condition with an attractive dark patina on the action and butplate. barrel and mag tube have developed a drk patina with traces of blue in protected areas. Barrel shows a bright spot on right side by action from carry wear. Lever has a mottled grey patina with light pitting. Wood has a nice dark OK finish with a few scattered light marks. Butstock and butplate numbers match gun. Features include small loop lever, first style short wrist butstock with early style door in butplate(brass pin), old style hammer (no half cock notch), third style barrel marking , long forend, flat crown muzzle, and first type front band with integral sight. A fine example of a late second model 1866 SRC with a great untouched look. Antique
