This is a super nice 94' Deluxe Takedown Rifle with a great "out of the closet" look. It is a very early Antique that was manufactured just out of the first year with a 16xxx serial number. It has a beautiful fancy checkered pistolgrip stock with a very uncommon and desirable cresent butt, that fits well and shows a rich medium color. The metal has turned to an even plumb overall patina. It has a 26" barrel with rifling that will clean up and is about a 9, and has a rare full magazine takedown. The action functions nicely and levers smoothly. It has a Rocky Mountain blade style front sight and a buckhorn style rear sight. The added beauty of this rifle is that it has a sterling silver presentation plate inset in the buttstock, that is fully detailed on the Winchester letter and inscription totally spelled out. It is very rare for that all to be metioned on the letter, much less be an antique first year gun.
This is a great early rifle with some super rare features, not to mention the presentation.
