Description:
This would be a No.1 pocket pistol. 3-3/4" oct bbl. Serial number is 1608. All Volcanic pistols are scarce and desirable. This is one of about 850 No. 1 pocket pistols produced between 1857 and 1860. This gun has the New Haven marking on the bbl along with the patent date of 1854. This Volcanic is in overall VG condition with some blue remaining to the bbl. An aged blue with some lighter spots and some darker age spots. Nice markings on a VG condition bbl. Receiver also has a very pleasing antique brass color. Nice sharp edges and relatively smooth metal with some light scratches. Grips are nice fitting with overall good wood. There is a light hairline crack on the right side coming from the screw hole going up towards the hammer. One little sliver missing towards the top. New Haven Arms Co and the different versions of the Volcanic are very Historically significant as that is what spawned the whole lever action evolvement. A very good collectible gun!
