A superior assembled Springfield Armory 1898 Krag with a hand rubbed American walnut stock with a silver circle inlaid in the stock on the left side for perhaps an owners initials, and rubber recoil pad.This was an original carbine with a 22" barrel has a crisp clean shiny rifled bore, and the frame has remains of color case hardening, and barrel is soft blue.The front sight is a military type and the rear sight was removed and now has a side mount peep sight, that works very well. The action is good and tight.This gun is light weight and comes up fast. This gun was professionally built for hiking through the woods and the .30-40 Krag ammo will bring down almost anything. Krags have brought down more deer since the turn of the century than any other rifle. We don’t have asite .I prefer money orders or a check. Item ships when funds come in.
