Description:
Here is an exceptional opportunity to buy a rare factory F (Premier) Grade Remington Model 32 Skeet 12ga over/under shotgun four barrel set.  Serial number of 4378 with manufacture in approx. 1940.  28" 12ga barrel choked for skeet with 26" barrels in 28ga, 410ga, and 20ga.  All barrels serial numbered and match the shotgun. The finest level of engraving offered by Remington at the time with detailed scroll and gold inlay game scene.  Like most 32's I cannot find a signature, although it's speculated that Joe Loy did most of the F Grade 32's at the time.  As this is a 1940 gun, and Loy retired that year it is quite possible that it's a Carl Ennis or Robert Runge engraved this gun as well.    The blue on barrels and receiver is about perfect.  This one has been shot.  The fancy walnut has been professionally refreshed by having the checkering properly re-cut and refinished.  Mechanics are perfect, including ejectors.  Bores are nice and shiny.  It is known that four barrel sets like these were frequently made by Simmons and custom fitted to the rifle using 12ga barrel sets.  Notice that each extra barrel has matching engraving, has been serial numbered to the gun.  Barrel to receiver fit is tight with and without the forearm.  Older leather recoil pad is still soft.  These are pretty rare shotguns, and the finest work of art Remington offered both pre and post WW2.   Only 5100 Model 32's were produced before production ceased right after WW2, with very few in the top F Grade like this one.  This set comes from an old local double gun collection, the collector an guest author for Double Gun Journal.  Comes with a custom leather, sheepskin lined, soft case.  $27,000 Please email or call for details.  Over 2000 transactions on GB.  Minnetonka Trading Co.  (612) 819 9549
