Description:
Old Calgary Brewing Company advertising ashtray with a horseshoe and buffalo skull along with thecompany founding date of 1892 on the front of the piece. I have rubbed chalk on the imprint so you can see it. It will wipe off. Condition is very good with only a few minor flecks of the finish missing. Base measures 5 3/4 x 5 1/2 inches. It is 3 1/2 inch tall at the buffalo. These were given to saloons and hotels to promote the Calgary Brew. The Brewing Co. was one of the original backers of the Calgary Stampeed. I can just imagine a bunch of crusty old characters with their cegars laying in the tray while heady thick smoke surrounded their heads as they hoist the golden brew.
