- Note: This is a 98 Mauser, military action re-barreled to 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser. The barreled action has been set in a walnut sporter stock with Pachmayr rubber buttplate. The bolt handle has been bent for scope mounting clearance. As well, a low swing safety has been installed. The gun is mounted with Buehler bases and rings and what appears to be a modified Stith scope. The bore is bright with strong lands and grooves. Sporting trigger has been installed. This appears to have been a sporting rifle project that was never completely finished. The metal still shows as military and has never been refinished. The gun is mechanically crisp and can go to the field immediately. Or, if preferred, a more modern scope can be added. The barreled action alone warrants the price!
