Description:
Nice late 19th century to turn of the 20th century knife-cane.  Head made out of the base of a deer antler with a fired 38 caliber cartridge inset in the center.  The body is made of wood which has been made to resemble bamboo with a brass tip 4-7/8 inches long.  35-1/2 inches overall length.  Handle of knife is 6-7/8th including the stag tip.  There is a fancy ribbed iron ring separating the stag head from the wood part of the handle and two black painted iron escutcheons that hold the pin that retains the knife in the handle.  The iron knife blade is 12-5/8 inches long and quite thin, with a single narrow blood groove near the top.  There is an old age crack 5-1/4 inches long on each side at the top of the cane shaft.  It appears that there was once a metal ring at the top of this, but it is no longer present.  Nice knife cane.
