Colt 1878 Double Action revolver, .45 lc., was made in 1889. A very handsome revolver with finely cut aftermarket engraving in a nice/period scroll pattern. Engraver, when the engraving was cut and when the restoration was completed are unknown. The 4” barrel without ejector rod is completely original. This revolver retains 99%+ restored finishes since engraving. All numbers and lettering are crisp and sharp. The checkered wood grips are nicely crafted and also retain all finish. Mechanically excellent, great bore, a very attractive and nice 1878DA.
