GORGEOUS BALLARD RIFLE CO., CODY WYOMING, No. 1 3/4 "FAR WEST" FANCY SPORTING RIFLE WITH 28" MVA 6X SCOPE IN FULLY ADJUSTABLE CREEDMOOR MOUNTS, (scope and mounts alone cost over $1,000), globe front sight, spirit level on barrel ahead of the receiver, tang sight base, extra fancy walnut with AA finish to the wood, a minor scratch or two in the wood and a small ding in the left side of the forend are the only minor things that keep this one from being brand new, checkered steel shotgun butt plate, double set triggers, beautifully case colored action, 29 3/8" medium heavy round barrel (obviously made this length to make silhouette weight of 12 lbs 2 oz, chambered in the excellent .40-60 Maynard cartridge- made famous/popular by Steve Garbe who ran the Ballard Company in the 1990s and used this caliber to win the 1990 National championship for the NRA Black Powder Cartridge Silhouette- simply made from either expanded .30-40 Krag or .303 British cases, seldom seen for sale these days, absolutely top quality in every way and this one is spectacular- I was a dealer for the company from its beginning and still have three of their rifles- in like new condition inside and out! weighs right about 12 lbs without scope.
