Description:
Pre War Winchester Model 54 Standard in .30 GOV"T '06. 24" Barrel w/ Exc bore. S/N 44xxxA. UNDRILLED rear receiver bridge. Lyman Alaskan scope with scarce 7/8" Stith mounting system. Rifle has factory issued Model 70 bolt handle that occured on the latest models produced and could also be retrofitted after 1936 when Model 70 production took off. The attachment point to 54 bolt body and wood inletting are unmistakably Winchester. The original factory wood inlet for long slide Lyman 48W peep sight has been nicely filled with a wood plug and has not been enlarged. I have in stock the correct model peep sight in excellent condition that I would exchange straight across for the Scope and Mount setup if a buyer so desired. Includes original issue sling. 95% plus Blue and Varnish overall with the usual greater degree of wear to butt plate and floor plate.
