Description:
This is a standard military “Tommy" helmet but has been painted police blue with a white “POLICE" stencil on the front of the crown. The helmet retains 70-80% of its original blue paint with some brown freckling on the underlying metal visible where the blue paint. Further paint loss occurs along the brim which is now predominantly a bright gray patina. The interior is somewhat stiff but intact and the elastic chinstrap is still flexible and in excellent condition. This is a neat piece of World War II police memorabilia and would make a fine addition to a collection.
