Description:
S# 642, .43 Spanish (11.15 X 58 RMM), 35 7/8 inch barrel, bright very good bore with one small area of erosion. This rolling block was built from 1879 to 1882 and it was arsenal refinished prior to surplus sale. Barrel retains over 95% blue. Action shows 80% with a flaked area on right side. Wood is sound and looks great with crisp R cartouche by butplate and inspectors mark by lower tang. Upper tang markings remain sharp and legible. Forend shows a few light scattered marks with two dents at center on right side. The original correct ramrod is also included. A very good example complete with barrel markings and Werndl style rear sight. Antique.
