Description:
Winchester Model 1866 Musket
- .44 rimfire caliber
- 27" barrel
- Very rare musket with bayonet fitting (lug is forged integral with the front barrel band, held in position by the screw on the lower part of the band and the screw which enters in the lug and passes through)
- Only 1 in every 14 muskets have the saber bayonet
- Cannot make our lettering on barrel or receiver
- 20" bayonet with brass eagle head with a crown over a C stamped on blade
- Cleaning rod storage, no cleaning rod present
- Bayonet fitting and bayonet front sight
- Two barrel band musket
- Henry style rear sight
- Rear stock and forend apears original to gun
- Sling swivels are Henry style
- Action functions well and is mustard color
- Rifle and metal parts have pitting (normal for military musket which saw use in the frontier)
- Bore is fair with lands and grooves
- Serial number 47631B
