Manufactured in Japan, the Model 23 Classic was only imported in 1986 and 1987. Dual white bead sights on the matte rib with the East Alton address on the left barrel, "MADE IN JAPAN" on the right, a gold washed "20" marking on the rear of the rib, improved cylinder and modified chokes, 2 3/4 and 3 inch chambers with ejectors. The frame is lightly scroll engraved with a gold finished single trigger and a gold inlaid pheasant on the underside of the receiver. Tang mounted automatic safety with barrel selector.
Mounted on a checkered walnut pistol grip stock with a nicely veed, ebony insert at the forearm tip. Features an engraved steel grip cap, unmarked gold inlaid inscription panel in the toe line of the butt stock and a solid Winchester recoil pad. Length of pull is 14 1/2 inches. Presented complete with a Winchester luggage-style takedown case and the original factory box numbered to the gun. The gun is beautiful and in like new condition.
