Description:
A 66 1/2" overall length Fowler, built using the lock from a British musket of Queen Victoria's era. The barrel measures 50 1/4" and the bore is 10 ga. Total weight is 11.2 lbs. The gun has no triggerguard, and 2 of the barrel bands are of sheet lead, 1 is of steel. The gun is stocked to within 7 1/2" of the muzzle. A great decorater and conversation piece. This is a Newfoundland sea bird or seal hunting musket. No trigger guard to allow the hunter to use the gun while wearing heavy wool gloves. Antique.
