The S&W .22 Hand Ejector Ladysmith 1st Model was made from 1902 to 1906, with 4,575 manufactured. They were fitted with either a 3 or 3 1/2 inch barrel, checkered hard rubber grips, round butt frame, finished in blue or nickel, and chambered in .22 S&W (.22 Long). These 1st Model Ladysmiths were identifiable by small frame mounted cylinder release button. This S&W Ladysmith is as described, is fitted with a 3 inch barrel, is nickel finished, and is fitted with the optional pearl grips with gold recessed S&W medallions. It retains about 70 to 80% of its original nickel finish, with most of the loss, with some surface corrosion, in the flutes of the cylinder, and thinning on the barrel. The grips are near excellent, with one small chip in the left grip near the medallion. The bore is shootable with minimal corrosion. The action functions well and is tight, though the timing is a little off on a couple of cylinder bores. These are S&W smallest revolvers, cute as a button.
