Description:
W J Jeffery & Co. 12 gauge sidelock SxS shotgun. 28" solid rib barrels proofed for 2 3/4", 3 1/4 ton, with .729 mirror perfect bores and dated 1961. I mic'd the barrels at .732 and chokes of .005 & .011 which equate to Skeet & IC...perfect for upland game. With a serial number of 6521 I have to guess that the maker's barrels were added in 1961 or there abouts; regardless they are made by Jeffery and are a perfect match to the frame! Double triggers, automatic safety and extractors. Note: this gun originally had ejectors and the forearm "guts" were removed so the gun is now an extractor model. The nicely figured straight grip stock is 1 1/2" DAC, 2 7/16" DAH & 14" LOP over pad; with slight right hand cast. Barrel blue is thinning and faded in spots. The frame finish has just a few traces of colors and there are spots of pitting on the left side (see photo). The wood finish is 97% and since the wood is still proud of the metal either this is a new stock and forearm or just magnificently maintained. Near full coverage rose & scroll engraving; screws are all fine, the gun is tight and mechanically excellent.
