Description:
NSN, .38 caliber, 5" octagon barrel with a good bore that has mild freckling on the muzzle half. This percussion revolver uses Joseph Bentley's patented action and has an overall mottled gray patina with mild surface freckling throughout and some traces of the original blue remaining on the frame on either side of the spurless hammer. The gun is Birmingham proofed, the barrel is retailer marked: "VEISEY & SON" (Birmingham 1848 - 1868), and also patent marked on the right side of the frame. The checkered walnut grips are in very good shape and have some flattening of the points as well as minor handling marks on either side. The mechanism is tight and still functions flawlessly.
