FRENCH MODEL 1822 PERCUSSION CONVERSION GENDARME PISTOL. 10” o/a with 5” smoothbore .60 cal. barrel engraved on the tang “MLE. 1822”. Lock engraved “MRE. RLE. DE MAUBEUGE” for the French Armory where it was manufactured. All original and complete except ramrod which is an atypical brass modern replacement. Otherwise very good plus with legible markings. Grey metal patina and nice wood with visible circular Govt. Inspector’s cartouche. Lock in working order and reasonably good order. Type used by French police and customs officials.
