*** SOLD *** This quality back action bar lock upland shotgun from one of the world’s great makers will be a great gun to take afield in grouse, woodcock and quail cover. Easy to carry and quick handling in the potent 16 gauge it makes the ideal upland gun. *** The action utilizes FN’s timeless and proven back action sidelock in a bar lock configuration with double triggers. It is a graceful but strong action with side clips and a cross bolt. Beautiful and realistic game scene engraving of a setter on point on the right lock and flying waterfowl on the left is combined with intricate border engraving to make this a handsome gun you will be proud to own. Lots of remaining case coloring enhances the overall appearance. *** The gun weighs 6lb even. It has quick handling 27-1/2” barrels topped with a raised solid cross hatched rib. The extractor barrels are choked Modified and Full have recently been reblued. There is evidence of repaired dents and of the bores being polished at some point in time to remove some light rust and pitting. They look a little rough inside but the minimum wall thickness is 0.028 for the left barrel and 0.027 for the right. *** The swept back Prince of Wales pistol grip stock is combined with a splinter forearm and is made from attractively figured walnut that has been recently refinished. The checkering has been re-cut and is crisp. There are a few handling marks on the stock and the original sling swivels were removed leaving an open mounting hole on the bottom of the stock and two small mounting holes on the bottom rib. These small items are easily fixed. Stock dimensions are 14” over a thin factory butt plate by 1-3/8” by 2”. Cast off for the right hand shot. *** The gun is on face and mechanically sound. Very attractively priced. *** Buyer is responsible for all shipping, insurance, and any other related charges. I give a 3-day non-firing inspection period and will only accept returns at buyer’s expense if the gun is not as described in the listing.
