Description:
A silk backed and hand sewn stand of Allied flags, crown, photo pouch and olive branch. This was a piece as purchased by a Canadian or British Soldier in Gibraltar and sent home as a present. The soldier is from one of the Highland brigades (we cannot determine from the badge if it is a British or Canadian). The piece was purchased in Canada. The banner is mounted in an oak frame, 21 1/2 by 23 1/2 with the original glass. There was a small split in the silk in the lower right corner which has been tape repaired. This is an attractive and uncommon WWI piece of hand stitched material.
