The metal retains 90-92% armory re-applied parkerizing with some scratches and silvering at the muzzle, as well as further silvering on the projections, on the bearing surfaces of the bolt, and inside the op-rod raceway. The receiver was electric penciled under the wood: “SA/1-65”, indicating arsenal rebuild by Springfield Armory in January of '65. After that the rifle was sent overseas and there is a small, unobtrusive import marking on the right side of the barrel near the muzzle. The unmarked, Korean “chu wood” stock has scattered light handling marks and blemishes throughout, while the walnut handguards have some surface bruises, mainly on the rear handguard. An OD green canvas M1 sling is installed. This is a great arsenal refurbished, foreign service Garand, originally made in 1943, that is in about fine plus condition overall.
