Description:
For sale is a matched pair of best quality Joseph Lang shotguns built in 1882 with the orginal two tier case and accessories. They are best quality snap action underlever pigeon guns built on Langs trigger plate patent. Very similar to a Dickson, MacNaughton or McKay. They are extensively engraved and are in excellent conditon with much of the original case coloring. Also come with very beautiful and darkly figured english walnut stocks. Originally chambered for 3 inch shells (very unusual), the guns have 30 inch steel barrels with London proofs (No. 1 original and No. 2 sleeved in England) and weight 7 lbs 6 ounces. They have been fitted with leather pads and have a length of pull of 15 1/2 inches. Exceptional late pheasant and waterfowl guns.
