Fine smooth grey metal overall with only minor freckle pitting on the cylinder from the practice of boiling the cylinders to clean percussion revolvers. It does retain well over 50% of the cylinder scene, however, just being thin in the lightly rolled inner panels. The barrel has a thin plum patina, but is also devoid of the address, so it is more than likely this revolver was sold or captured by a Southern soldier who removed the hated “Yankee” address (a somewhat commonly seen removal). Fine grips which have about 75% varnish remaining, all matching including the wedge, and overall a very decent secondary Civil War revolver. VG++ as described. $995 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Antique: Yes |
