Description:
#4669 Manhattan Belt-Navy Revolver, 4”x36caliber, VG (about a “7” on a scale of 10) bore and crisp action. Fine smooth grey metal overall with only minor freckle pitting on the cylinder from the practice of boiling the cylinders to clean percussion revolvers. It does retain well over 50% of the cylinder scene, however, just being thin in the lightly rolled inner panels. The barrel has a thin plum patina, but is also devoid of the address, so it is more than likely this revolver was sold or captured by a Southern soldier who removed the hated “Yankee” address (a somewhat commonly seen removal). Fine grips which have about 75% varnish remaining, all matching including the wedge, and overall a very decent secondary Civil War revolver. VG++ as described. $995
